Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome and great to see you all! Today in class we will be discussing and practicing with latitude and longitude. We will also have some time to work on the VCT. Are you excited for the week off? I know I am! I hope you have fun today! Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.
Objectives:

• Discuss the attributes of latitude and longitude through note taking and collaborative practice
• Locate and identify locations via their geographic coordinates by completing a longitude/latitude practice w/s

Agenda:

1. History Today
2. Prompt: Latitude & Longitude
1. What do you already know about Latitude and Longitude?
2. Create a T-styled chart to bullet lest your knowledge of each
3. Discuss Latitude and Longitude
1. Take notes on binder paper.
2. Information presented will appear on Mapping Unit Quiz
3. Questions we will answer:
1. Describe Latitude. 
2. Describe Longitude. 
3. What is the purpose of using Longitude and Latitude? 
4. How do lines of Longitude relate to time? 
5. What are the equator and prime meridian? 
6. What are the different hemispheres? 
7. What causes the seasons? 
4. Practice: Latitude and Longitude
1. You may work with a partner! 
2. Each partner is completing their own work but you are collaborating! 
3. DO NOT write on the class set –Please indicate page number and subtitle of the question set

1. Google Classroom:
1. Prepare to publish your virtual campus map
2. Refer to the VCT Rubric to be sure you have all of the required components
1. All Items -include all 9 wings, including office
2. Accurate locations -each room is placed in its exact location
3. Office map accuracy -rooms within the office are accurately identified, including spelling
4. Publishing - the font size is uniform throughout, aesthetically pleasing, attention to precision, clean looking
5. Photos -18 selfies of specified location accurately placed throughout the map
6. Hyperlinks -5 hyperlinks on the map that accurately relate to your text (school website, teacher webpage/blog, athletic website, student club/organization, etc.)

Homework:

1. Submit VCT by 11:59PM tonight to be eligible for full credit
2. Have a great break!  Relax, eat lots of fruit & veg, and spend quality time with family and friends.
