Sept 12 -Fairy Tale Presentations

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today is the moment of truth! We will be telling our fairytales to the class starting today! I am pretty excited to see what you and your groups were able to produce in the time that you had on this project. This was your first major effort in this class and I am very proud of you. We will review my expectations for these presentations and then jump right in! This should be good! Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.
Objectives:

  • Read a fairytale book set in the geographic setting of a foreign country and aligned to the 5 Themes of Geography
Agenda:
  1. History Today
    • Prompt: Review 5 Themes 
    1. Define the Themes of HEI (Human Environment Interaction) and Movement
  2. Story Time Day 1 
    1. Readers! (When it is time of your group to present...) 
      1. Introduce with group names and the country chosen
      2. Take ~4 min
      3. Read loudly and clearly
      4. Use the voice of a storyteller
      5. Point out your pictures and read with a methodical pace 
  3. Audience! 
    1. Pay close attention to the 5 Themes of Geography (can you find all 5???)
    2. List: 1 thing you learned, 1 thing you noticed, and 1 question you had!

    • Prompt: Group Presentations
    1. Which group had the best presentation of their fairy tale? What made it “the best” for you? –cite at least 2 specific characteristics that made the presentation stand out.
Homework:
  1. None

That's all for today ladies and gentlemen! If you didn't present today then you better be ready on Thursday! Even if you struggled with this, it is a great accomplishment to start the year. Be prepared to work hard throughout and you should be more that ready for whatever comes to you this year!
