Sept 24 -Complete Early Mapmaking

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today in class we will continue examining the history of maps while practicing our digital reading and annotation skills.  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.
Objectives:

  • Read and digitally annotate a reading about the history of map making
Agenda:
  1. Critical Thinking: Reading -A History of Mapmaking (Google Classroom) 
    1. Read and annotate (take notes) on the following document. The first section is annotated for you. 
    2. Try to annotate using the margin provided and using the highlighter feature Use section titles to guide your reading! 
      1. I suggest looking at the summary questions first and reading all section titles… use this to guide your reading!
    3. You will have the class period complete the reading and annotations as well as answer the 8 questions
  2. Critical Thinking: Responding -Early Mapmaking Questions
    1. When you are done with the annotations you will need to respond to the Early Mapmaking Questions.
    2. Please respond to each question in complete sentences and with specific references to the article. Please make your responses in BLUE colored text.
      • For each questions response (minimum...) give 3 sentences. Each sentence structure is detailed below.
      1. Answer the question; make your point
      2. Give evidence from the text that supports your answer (from sentence #1)
      3. Explain how your evidence supports your answer to the question.

Homework:
  1. Upload/Turn in the annotated reading and the question responses to Classroom before 11:59PM tonight.
