Mon Aug 20 -Google Drive

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today in class we will be wrapping up the About Me paragraph and establishing an organizational system for your Google Drive accounts. If you stick with this system you should have no problem finding files throughout your high school career. I hope that your first few days of high school have been good so far and that you are enjoying your transition. High School will get harder but it is not that bad. I'm looking forward to our first full school week together! Below you will find our agenda, resources, and homework for the day.

Objectives:

  • Create folders and subfolders in Google Drive to practice proper file organization
  • Introduce 21st Century Learning
Agenda:
  1. History Today
    1. (Watch the video is in regards to the annexation of the Crimean peninsula by Russia)
    2. Why might American’s be more supportive of military action in a country that they don’t know the location of?
    3. What is the problem with not knowing the locations of countries? Responses do not need to be specific to the video!
  2. Share "About Me' paragraph 
    1. Share (can comment) your paragraph with your assigned partner
    2. You will need to select text in order to be able to use the comment feature 
    3. Reference the activity Rubric, to be sure you and your partner are prepared to meet all of the activity requirements.
  3. File Organization: Google Drive 
    1. Creating files and organizing your Drive 
  4. Discuss: 21st Century Culminating Project

    1. Why is Geography Important? 
    2. Why did we create folders in Google Drive? 
    3. What are the 5 Cs and how does this relate to reflection?
