May 6 -Mapping Monday #12

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome and great to see you all!  Happy Monday you beautiful people!  Today in class we have our 10th Mapping Monday.  With this one, you will be working on your Asia maps and/or Current Event #15 that should be coming from Asia.  Make sure you use this time wisely!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  • Locate and label the political and physical features of Asia on a map.
  • Research at least 1 current event from Asia and note its significance (Why do we care?)
Agenda:
  1. Mapping Asia
    1. Mapping Directions
    2. Asia Map Test on May 20
  2. Religion Project Presentations
    1. Format the slides in a pleasing way 
    2. You must “key” your work 
      1. Maybe identify your slides with your name 
    3. You must have an understanding of the religion as a whole!!! 
    4. Your presentation should include: (reference the assignment sheet for details) 
      1. title slide 
      2. intro slide 
      3. content slides 
      4. conclusion slide 
      5. credit slide (who did what job)
      6. bibliography slide 
    5. Consider following the "Rule of 6" 
      1. max 6 bullets/slide 
      2. max 6 words/bullet 
      3. min 20 pt font size for text 
      4. min 36 pt font size for slide titles 
    6. Know who is going to speak and when 
      1. ALL members of the group need to understand the basic facts of the religion 
      2. The use of speaker note cards is acceptable. 
  3. Pre-presentation interview
    1. You must successfully complete a pre-presentation interview during tutorial before you will be allowed to move on to present to the class
    2. Failure to complete this interview will result in a significant grade penalty from the inability to present your project
    3. Each group member will be asked questions about your topic 
    4. Responses need to show an understanding and sensitivity to the topic 
    5. suggestions for revisions will be made 
    6. Failure to complete this interview will result in a significant grade penalty from the inability to present
